2021: I have a website. I should use it.
Updated: Sep 29, 2021
Hello again.
2020 was...well you know.
Now it is 2021 and is...well, you know.
A good chunk of time has passed and most of that was not on here!
I am not a huge social media fan or user. If it weren't for the fact that it's the easiest way for me to connect with certain people who are too far from me, I would probably not use it at all. (If only we were closer people! You know who you are!) Oh...and you Oculus Quest 2 slash Facebook. Sigh. The things I do for the love of gaming.
Last year, I did a lot of weeding, both in the metaphorical and literal sense. My garden is neat and my friend lists, followers, etc. kept to a minimum.

I didn't limit it just to online. Last year, I did what I set out to. Focus on people who matter and spend time doing things I want to. Social distancing has really made it easier if I think of it.
All this, however, is countering my need for exposure as an artist and tini-tiny-nano business. I have tried out all the platforms to get a feel for which one I should focus on. Let's face it there are too many. I tried using them all at once for a good while but meh. I'm a one platform kind of gal I am finding out.
The only key difference is; Social media platforms have a large and varied audience already built-in. On the other hand, I have more control over my website with a small audience who is for the most part interested if not biased through blood or marriage or friendship IRL. ;)
I do like connecting with people but not for the sake of numbers and that is what social media feels like. A grab for numbers instead of true connection for the most part.
Looking at my website I realize I really should use it more. It is definitely very empty and quiet. There is evidence that I did pour a lot into it at one point. Just when I was getting so involved Covid threw a wrench and shifted all my priorities.
I am finding out I enjoy recording my thoughts and experiences more for me than anyone else but if I share it and it helps someone else that is a plus.
When I first started this website it was all about artwork. Many sources I have read that in order to succeed you need to find your "niche" and focus on one topic but I have lots of interests. I don't want to be confined to one thing. I think I always knew this hence the name DashinMoments. It can mean and encompass so many things.
I am removing the forum for now as I have not used it and nothing but awkward silence for a while. Maybe I will come around to starting it up again.
Other than that I have been very busy with new hobbies (more about that later), work (don't want to talk about it haha), and staying healthy ( I am doing my best, I swear).
