Philodendron Micans | Houseplant of the Month

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

This is probably one of my favorite plants and is very low maintenance. I love its dark green velvety leaves with deep purple undersides. I have had mine for a few months and it does not require much attention. I have it in a pot up high on a shelf hoping to create a curtain of leaves trailing down. It gets some direct light throughout the day but it does not seem to mind it.

It handled being repotted multiple times unnecessarily pretty easily. I couldn't decide what pot I wanted it in because I had a few plants needing bigger pots. I repotted it 3 times in a short period and it was like ok whatever and kept growing with no signs of stress.

Its leaves can collect some dust so I do spray it and give it a bit of a shower now and then. This is also a very photogenic plant. *sigh*

Philodendron Micans

Ideal Temp: Warm above 55F

Soil: Potting soil
